  DIOCESE OF ORLANDO SYNOD

The diocesan synod (council) is an assembly of selected priests and other members of the Church (synod delegates) which will meet over several weekends to discuss vision, goals and strategies. The synod is not intended to be a referendum on the future of the diocese but prepares recommendations for the Bishop.

A synod is begun whenever the diocesan bishop believes it is necessary. Representatives of the religious community are designated to participate by election or appointment.
